On
April 22, 2008, the Give A Bible initiative was formed
to provide bibles to youth who desire them.
I am a volunteer chaplain for the Georgia
Juvenile Justice System. Many youth are
requesting bibles and I have been trying to provide one
to them. On one visit, I had a young
man, 15 years old, who told me that he really
appreciated his bible. I asked him had he read it.
He said he put it under his bed every night because that
helped him feel closer to God while being incarcerated.
As I talked to counselors, I found out the young man had
difficulty reading very much like many of the other
detainees. To that end, I am starting a GAB
program (Give a Bible). |
|
The program is asking people to donate bibles that are easier to read than the King James Version which will be given to youth. |

2. The bible should be a NIV-New International Version,
NRSV-New Revised Standard Version, or NKJV-New King James Version. |
|
3. I can pick up the bible from you or you can send it to the following:
